The Center serves as a focal point for all services and programs provided by the Older Americans Act and Franklin Co. Council on the Aging.  These services include the following: Adult Day Care for Alzheimer's and stroke patients; home care to the seriously ill; transportation; hot meals served at the Center 5 days a week, along with the Meal on Wheels program; educational classes; recreational activities and other services.


Eligibility: Sixty years of age or older and a resident of Franklin County

Cost: Donations are accepted for social services and meals.  Sliding scale is set for home care program

Hours:  Monday -  Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, plus special events/activites as scheduled on weekends and nights

  Older adults serve as Ombudsmen in local nursing homes; provide problem solving services and friendly visits to remove the isolation felt by residents.

  Assists in preventing or delaying institutionalization of homebound adults with mental, emotional, and/or physical impairments; assists in the discharge of adults from residential and health care facilities, especially acute care hospitals; provides “respite” to households providing care to aged persons at risk of institutionalization; assists terminally ill persons; and provides care to others with special needs, such as the homeless.

 Eligibility: Sixty years of age or older

Cost: None

Hours:  Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
