This year's keynote speaker is:
Major General Donald C. Storm

Randy Roberts, Executive Director for the United Way of Franklin County (UWFC), would like to make taxpayers aware of a great opportunity that is being made available in our community at the Senior Activity Center, a partner agency of the UWFC.

Free tax preparation is being offered through the AARP Tax-Aide program, which is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service offered to taxpayers with low- and middle-income (with special attention to those aged 60 and older).

Filers who utilize this service will not only receive free tax preparation, but will also be made aware of little-known tax credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit, by representatives on site.  Last year, more than 2,400 people in Central Kentucky had their taxes filed for free, resulting in nearly $3 million in refunds.  This is money back into the hands of those who earned it, and back into our local economy.

Free tax preparation services are being offered at the following location:

Senior Activity Center
